Terms and Conditions

3.1 Age Requirements:

• Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account
• Learners under 18 may use the Platform with parental/guardian consent and supervision
• Parents/Guardians are responsible for all activities of minor Learners

3.2 Account Information:

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

4.1 Tutor Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must pass our verification process including background checks
• Must possess relevant qualifications for subjects taught
• Must maintain professional conduct at all times

4.2 Tutor Obligations:

• Provide accurate information about qualifications and experience
• Honor confirmed bookings or provide reasonable notice of cancellation
• Maintain appropriate boundaries with Learners
• Report any safety concerns immediately
• Comply with all applicable South African laws and regulations

5.1 Bookings:

• Learners request bookings which Tutors may accept or decline
• Confirmed bookings constitute a binding agreement between Learner and Tutor
• Session details, timing, and location must be agreed upon by both parties

5.2 Payment:

• All prices are in South African Rands (ZAR)
• Payment is due at the time of booking confirmation
• TutorMzansi charges a 10% platform fee on each booking
• Payments are held securely and released after session completion
• Tutors receive payment within 2-3 business days of session completion

5.3 Cancellation Policy:

• Cancellations 24+ hours before session: Full refund
• Cancellations within 24 hours: 50% charge
• No-shows without notice: Full charge
• Emergency cancellations reviewed case-by-case

6.1 Safety Standards:

• Users must comply with safety guidelines published in our Safety Center
• First sessions should be conducted online or in public places
• Users must report safety concerns immediately
• Parents/Guardians may observe sessions involving minor Learners

6.2 Prohibited Conduct:

Users may not:

• Engage in harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior
• Share personal contact information outside the Platform initially
• Circumvent the Platform's payment system
• Provide false information or impersonate others
• Use the Platform for any illegal purposes
• Violate intellectual property rights

7.1 Marketplace Model:

TutorMzansi operates as a marketplace connecting Learners with Tutors. We are not a tutoring service provider. The tutoring relationship is between the Learner and Tutor directly.

7.2 No Guarantees:

• We do not guarantee specific educational outcomes
• We do not guarantee Tutor availability
• While we verify Tutors, we cannot guarantee their performance
• We are not liable for disputes between Users

10.1 By Users: You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support.

10.2 By TutorMzansi: We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Pose safety risks to the community
• Remain inactive for extended periods

Upon termination, pending bookings and payments will be handled according to our standard policies.
